A dispersal of the Late Sarah J. Leigh’s bloodstock will take place at the forthcoming Tattersalls December Sale which takes place November 23rd - December 3rd.

The six lots, comprising one yearling, one foal, two fillies in training and two broodmares will be a poignant reminder of the achievements of Sarah Leigh and her father Gerald, whose Eydon Hall Farm enjoyed enormous global success as an owner and breeder with the likes of BARATHEA, BOSRA SHAM, GOSSAMER and MARKOFDISTINCTION.

All six lots trace back to Gerald Leigh’s outstanding foundation mare BROCADE, herself the winner of the Group 1 Prix de la Foret, and also the dam of the 1993 Irish 2000 Guineas winner BARATHEA and 2002 Irish 1000 Guineas winner GOSSAMER. The four fillies and mares will be consigned from Sara and Luca Cumani’s Fittocks Stud with the eight year old multiple Listed winner SETA joined by her seven year old half sister RIVARA, in foal to MASTERCRAFTSMAN, RIVARA’s three year old daughter DELAINE and her exciting two year old daughter FARANDINE, an easy winner at Newmarket on her latest start.

SETA’s colt foal by EXCEED AND EXCEL, also coming from Fittocks Stud, and the PIVOTAL yearling colt out of RIVARA, to be consigned by Highclere Stud, complete the sextet.

Commenting on the dispersal, Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony said;

“The contribution of the Leigh family to British racing and breeding has been immense and while the dispersal of the Late Sarah J. Leigh’s bloodstock will be tinged with sadness, it will also be a fitting tribute to the enormous success the Leigh family enjoyed over many years."
