HELENE MASCOT winning the Group 1 Hong Kong Derby

HELENE MASCOT was originally trained by David Elsworth in England where, as SALFORD MILL, he finished sixth in AUTHORIZED’s Derby last year. Elsworth had purchased the son of PEINTRE CELEBRE at Book 1 of the 2005 October Yearling Sale for 45,000 guineas from Gilly McCalmont’s Yeomanstown Lodge Stud. He won twice for Elsworth including the Listed Newmarket Stakes before transferring to Tony Cruz in Hong Kong where he has established himself as the best of his generation.

HELENE MASCOT has now won two of his three starts for owner Wilson Woo Ka Wah and partners and the dual Hong Kong Group 1 winner’s career earnings have ballooned to £982,481. He now looks set to challenge the 2006 Hong Kong Derby winner and fellow Tattersalls October Yearling Sale Book 1 graduate VIVA PATACA as Hong Kong’s leading middle distance horse.

INGLIS DREVER IS TATTERSALLS NATIONAL HUNT HORSE OF THE MONTH FOR MARCH

The Howard Johnson trained INGLIS DREVER is the Tattersalls National Hunt Horse of the Month for March following his record breaking third consecutive victory in the Grade 1 World Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. The term 'legend' if often loosely bandied about, but few thoroughbreds can be more deserving of the accolade than Graham and Andrea Wylie’s stalwart.

The son of IN THE WINGS was purchased by Howard Johnson on Wylie’s behalf at the 2003 Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale for 110,000 guineas from the consignment of Sir Mark Prescott’s Heath House Stables.

Bred by Bobby McAlpine and David Pickering INGLIS DREVER’s National Hunt career has reaped thirteen wins and six placings from 21 starts for prizemoney in excess of £750,000 – a total which could well be increased after tomorrow’s Grade 2 Liverpool Hurdle for which he looks set to start favourite
