The beautifully bred Group 2 winning GALILEO filly ELIZABETH BROWNING looks set to be amongst the highlights of the five day Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale which takes place Monday October 30th to Friday 3rd November. Expanded to five days for the first time ever, the catalogue numbers a record 1,757 and can be viewed online at www.tattersalls.com.

ELIZABETH BROWNING, herself an own sister to two year old Group 1 winner JOHANNES VERMEER, is one of 47 lots catalogued from Aidan O’Brien’s all-conquering Ballydoyle Stables and is joined by Group and Listed winners WHITECLIFFSOFDOVER, PAINTED CLIFFS and PEACE ENVOY.

The world’s largest sale of horses in training, from which last year’s Tattersalls Irish 1000 Guineas winner JET SETTING was purchased for only 12,000 guineas, features more than 130 Group and Listed performers including 2017 winners FABRICATE, FLYMETOTHESTARS, GRANDEE, HIGHER POWER, KHUKRI, KOOL KOMPANY, KOROPICK, LAW AND ORDER, MATTMU, SNOANO, SOLOMON’S BAY and TRUE VALOUR. Currently the Timeform top rated in the catalogue is the ultra-consistent four year old Listed winner MORANDO who is rated 119, and the Timeform top two year old is the 106 rated Group 2 placed FROZEN ANGEL.

The 2017 Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale also features six colts and geldings in training as part of the eagerly anticipated Ballymacoll Dispersal. Five of the six, including the very highly regarded three year old gelding PIVOINE, will come from Sir Michael Stoute’s Freemason Lodge Stables whose consignment of 21 also includes last year’s Group 2 King Edward VII Stakes winner ACROSS THE STARS.

Recent Australian Group 3 winner HARLEM, whose next target is the Group 1 Caulfield Cup, has provided yet another reminder of why the Juddmonte consignment is an annual highlight of the Autumn Horses in Training Sale. Former Juddmonte inmate HARLEM topped last year’s Autumn Horses in Training Sale at 520,000 guineas and this year’s 33 strong Juddmonte team looks as enticing as ever with the high class three and four year olds HYDE PARK, MONARCHS GLEN, PLATITUDE, SILENT ECHO and TAMELLY all likely to be amongst the most sought after offerings.

Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum’s ever popular Shadwell consignment numbers 62 lots and the largest consignment is the team of 78 coming from The Castlebridge Consignment. The two largest trainers’ consignments are the 68 coming from Richard Hannon’s powerful East Everleigh Stables and the 64 from Richard Fahey’s prolific Musley Bank Stables, and the current top five British based trainers have an impressive total of 221 catalogued between them. Irish trainers including Charles O’Brien, Joseph O’Brien, Jessie Harrington, Michael Halford, Gordon Elliott, John Oxx, Johnny Murtagh, Jim Bolger, John Murphy, Michael O’Callaghan, Fozzy Stack and Dermot Weld are also well represented and buyers will also find significant numbers of high class winners from France and Germany.

Commenting on the 2017 Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training catalogue, Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony said;

“The 2017 Autumn Horses in Training catalogue is not only the largest ever, but it is also a catalogue of real quality and diversity. The key to the consistent appeal of this unique sale is that it produces Group 1 winners on the global stage and Grade 1 winners at the Cheltenham Festival in equal measure. The Autumn Horses in Training Sale caters to pretty well every possible requirement of buyers, both Flat and National Hunt, which is why it annually attracts buyers from every continent in the world."
