Just Fine Winning the Group 1 Metropolitan at Royal Randwick

The Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott trained JUST FINE stamped himself as a rising star of Australian racing when taking out the Group 1 Metropolitan at Royal Randwick today. The son of SEA THE STARS is now as short as 10/1 for the Melbourne Cup and is unbeaten on his three Australian starts.

JUST FINE was purchased at last year’s Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale for 300,000 guineas by agent Johnny McKeever and Waterhouse Bott Racing from the draft of Freemason Lodge Stables. He defeated a gallant SPIRIT RIDGE who is also a graduate of the sale, having been purchased for 100,000 guineas by De Burgh Equine & Darby Racing.

It was a memorable day for the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale with BORN A KING, a 120,000 guineas purchase by Chris Waller Racing, successful in the Listed R.M. Ansett Stakes at Mornington. The victories of JUST FINE and BORN A KING mean that the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale has produced 85 individual Group/Listed winners since 2020, including 8 Gr.1 Winners.

The 2023 Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale takes place from Monday 23rd to Friday 27th October and features 1750 lots. The catalogue is online now at www.tattersalls.com and will be available from Tattersalls and Tattersalls representatives from Monday, 9th October.
