Tattersalls graduates win 6 of 7 on Glorious Goodwood day four.
Graduates of the 2007 Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sale have swept all before them at Glorious Goodwood this week winning all three two-year-old Group races at the Sussex course.
The Glorious trio comprised Godolphin's RIO DE LA PLATA, winner of the Group 2 Vintage Stakes and FLEETING SPIRIT, winner of the Group 3 Molecomb Stakes, both sold by Con Marnane from his Bansha House Stables for 170,000 guineas and 90,000 guineas respectively and also STRIKE THE DEAL, winner of the Group 2 Richmond Stakes, purchased for 140,000 guineas from Willie Slattery's Meadowview Stables.
Con Marnane was not the only one enjoying a high profile Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up double. Both STRIKE THE DEAL and FLEETING SPIRIT were bought by Newmarket based bloodstock agent Anthony Stroud on behalf of 'The Searchers' partnership which comprises BHA Chairman Paul Roy and prominent owners Trevor Harris, Martin Myers, Andy Stewart and Kevin Watts and both two-year-olds are trained in Newmarket by Jeremy Noseda.
Also flying the flag for Europe's premier two-year-olds in training sale was the Chris Wall trained filly WAKE UP MAGGIE, a 19,000 guineas purchase from Emma O'Gorman's Seven Springs Stables at the 2005 Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up, who took her career earnings past £240,000 when landing her second Group 3 race, the prestigious Oak Tree Stakes, for owner John Lambton.
The other two Tattersalls sold winners on the day were PURPLE MOON, winner of the Listed Glorious Stakes for trainer Luca Cumani, purchased by agent Gerry Griffin on behalf of owner Craig Bennett at last year's Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training sale for 440,000 guineas, and the Clive Cox trained PEARLY WEY, a 12,000 guineas Kingwood Bloodstock purchase at the 2003 Tattersalls December Foal Sale where he was consigned from Brook Stud.
