SPORTING ART continued the amazing run of success of Tattersalls Breeze Up graduates when he won the Grade 3 Palm Beach Stakes at Gulfstream Park last weekend for trainer Christophe Clement and owners Jon and Sarah Kelly. The son of DONERAILE COURT was purchased by trainer Gary Moore at the 2007 Tattersalls Guineas Breeze Up Sale for 45,000 guineas and following two wins and close-up fourths in the Group 3 Sirenia Stakes and Listed Stardom Stakes was resold for 220,000 guineas at the 2007 Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale to American agent Steve Young.
SPORTING ART’s victory made him the seventh Group/Graded winner from a Tattersalls Breeze Up in 2007 and one of a staggering twenty-three Tattersalls Breeze Up Group/Listed winners since the beginning of last year. His 45,000 guineas price tag is further evidence of the value to be found at Tattersalls Breeze Up sales and follows hot on the heels of 16,000 guineas Group 3 winner RAYMI COYA, 90,000 guineas Group 2 winner FLEETING SPIRIT, 100,000 guineas Group 2 Gimcrack winner SIR GERRY and 16,500 guineas Listed winning graduate YANKEE BRAVO, whilst not forgetting the leading 2,000 Guineas fancy RIO DE LA PLATA, a Group 1 winner and purchased for 170,000 guineas.
