The Clive Cox-trained PROFITABLE won his third race in a row and his first at the highest level when winning the Group 1 King’s Stand Stakes on the opening day of the Royal Ascot meeting. The Alan Spence owned four-year-old son of INVINCIBLE SPIRIT won the sprint feature under the guidance of Adam Kirby on the opening day by a neck from another October Yearling Sale purchase in COTAI GLORY with GOKEN in third.

PROFITABLE was purchased at Book 1 of the October Yearling Sale for 95,000 guineas by Clive Cox Racing from breeder Con Harrington's Ridge Manor Stables. The son of the INDIAN RIDGE mare DANI RIDGE was purchased as a stallion prospect by Sheikh Mohammed’s Godolphin operation just four days ago but will continue to race for owner Alan Spence and trainer Clive Cox in the meantime.

Book 1 of the October Yearling Sale takes place October 4th - 6th.
