Seven Wildcards Added to Tattersalls December Sale
Seven wildcards, comprising one yearling, two foals, one stallion prospect and three fillies/mares, have been added to the Tattersalls December Sale which takes place from November 23 - December 3.
The outstanding catalogue for the Tattersalls December Mare Sale has been further enhanced by the addition of the Listed winning pair PERSONA GRATA and INDIGO, the Group 3 producing mare PIVOTALIA and the stallion prospect GATEWOOD.
PERSONA GRATA, who is catalogued as lot 1720A, has won twice at Listed level at Deauville and Maisons-Laffitte and was third in the Group 3 Prix de Flore at Saint-Cloud on her most recent start. The daughter of SIR PERCY is offered in-training from Nick Bradley's Glebe Farm Stables and is a great-granddaughter of the French 1,000 Guineas winner RIVERQUEEN.
The other Listed winning wild card is the five year old Mare INDIGO, offered out of training by agent Jamie Railton. The daughter of FALCO, winner of the Listed Prix La Sorellina at La Teste de Buch, is out of the Group 3 winning LOUP SOLITAIRE mare BLANCHE is catalogued as lot 2278A.
The Castlebridge Consignment will offer the PIVOTAL mare PIVOTALIA as lot 1711A as part of their 65-strong December Mare Sale draft. PIVOTALIA is already the dam of this year’s Group 3 Amethyst Stakes winner ONENIGHTIDREAMED and is offered in foal to CANFORD CLIFFS.
The fourth addition to the December Mare Sale is the Group winning stallion prospect GATEWOOD. A winner at Group & Listed level five times, the son of GALILEO is catalogued as lot 1794A and will be consigned from John Gosden’s Clarehaven Stables. The seven-year-old was bred by George Strawbridge and hails from the family of Group 1 Prix de la Foret winner PRODUCER whose descendants include the Group winners BACH, AIKEN, SLEEPING INDIAN and GATEWOOD’s dam FELICITY.
The Tattersalls December Foal Sale has two wildcard entries, a colt and a filly. The colt is the previously announced GALILEO foal out of the Champion KINGMAMBO mare WALZERKOENIGIN. The half-brother to the Group 1 German Derby winner WIENER WALZER is catalogued as lot 1204A and will be offered by The Castlebridge Consignment.
The filly foal on offer is a daughter of Newsells Park Stud’s NATHANIEL out of the SAKHEE mare LA SURAMA. She is catalogued as lot 692A and will be offered by agent Keith Harte. The filly hails from a family that includes a plethora of German Champions including LOMITAS, LAVIRCO, LADY MARION and LA DORADA.
The sole December Yearling Sale wildcard is the RAVEN’S PASS colt out of TUPELO HONEY, the SADLER’S WELLS half-sister to the Group 2 Beresford Stakes winner DAVID LIVINGSTON. The colt, who is closely related to the dual Derby winner HIGH CHAPARRAL, will be consigned by Church View Stables as lot 132A.
The Tattersalls December Sale comprises one day of yearlings on November 23, five days of foals from November 24 – 28 and four days of breeding stock from November 30 – December 3. Catalogues are online now and available from Tattersalls and Tattersalls representatives.
