Tattersalls Graduate Marcel Wins the Group 1 Racing Post Trophy

The Peter Chapple-Hyam trained MARCEL was a length and a half winner in the Group 1 Racing Post Trophy yesterday, seeing off his rivals at a starting price of 33-1.   Andrea Atzeni steered the son of LAWMAN to victory and in turn gained his third win in the race in as many years.

Out of MARJU mare MAURESMO, the Racing Post Trophy winner, was bought privately for just 26,000 guineas at last year’s Tattersalls October Book 2 by Troy Steve Bloodstock from Baroda & Colbinstown Studs who were celebrating their first Group 1 success.   The two-year-old colt was bred by Oghill House Stud’s David Hyland and is from the family of multiple Group 1 winning American mare, ANNOCONNOR.
