Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale cemented its reputation as Europe’s premier yearling sale with two Group 1 winners at Meydan on Dubai World Cup Night.

The five-year-old POSTPONED, purchased by Charlie Gordon - Watson and John Warren for 360,000 guineas at Book 1 of the 2012 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, took his earnings over £3,500,000 with an effortless victory in an outstanding renewal of the $6,000,000 Dubai Sheema Classic. Trained by Newmarket-based Roger Varian for owner Sheikh Mohammed Obaid, the son of DUBAWI out of EVER RIGG, was bred by St Albans Bloodstock and consigned as a yearling by Highclere Stud. Earlier in the afternoon trainer Musabah Al Muhairi landed the Group 1 Dubai Golden Shaheen with the Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum owned MUARRAB. The seven year old son of OASIS DREAM out of LICENCE TO THRILL was purchased by Angus Gold at Book 1 of the 2010 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale for 280,000 guineas. Bred by Chris Wright at his Stratford Place Stud, MUARRAB is now the winner of 13 races and more than £1.1 million in prize money.

800 guineas Tattersalls October Book 3 yearling purchase EURO CHARLINE continued to belie her humble origins with another performance of huge merit. The Team Valor five-year-old mare earned £816,000 as runner up in the Group 1 Dubai Turf and now has earnings nudging £1,500,000.
