Tattersalls October Yearling Buy Mecca's Angel Wins Group 1 Nunthorpe Stakes

Tattersalls October Book 2 graduate MECCA’S ANGEL won the Group 1 Nunthorpe Stakes at York this afternoon.  The Michael Dods trained daughter of DARK ANGEL beat a strong field of 19, which included the heavily backed American raider, ACAPULCO.

MECCA’S ANGEL was bought from Book 2 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale for just 16,000gns by Michael Dods from the draft of Yeomanstown Stud.

Yeomanstown Stud also offers her full sister at Book 1 of this year’s Tattersalls October Yearling Sale.  Her pedigree boasts another full sibling MARKAZ, in training with Barry Hills, who won the Group 3 Criterion Stakes at Newmarket earlier in the year.

Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale takes place October 6 – 8 and will feature the only yearlings eligible for the all-new Tattersalls October ‘Book 1 Bonus’ which offers a £25,000 bonus to any two-year-old graduate who wins a Class 2, 3 or 4 Maiden in Great Britain or an ‘Open’ Maiden in Ireland.
