Tattersalls, Europe’s leading bloodstock auctioneers, is to sponsor the Listed Prix La Sorellina at La Teste de Buch Racecourse in France. The prestigious contest, which is one of only two Listed contests to be run every year at La Teste, will be named the Tattersalls Prix La Sorellina and will take place on Thursday 22nd June.

The Tattersalls Prix La Sorellina will be run over 1,600 metres for 3 year old fillies and was won last year by the Highclere Thoroughbred Racing owned CHARTREUSE who was subsequently sold at the 2016 Tattersalls December Sale for 825,000 guineas.

Commenting on the new sponsorship, Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony said;

“Sponsoring the Listed Prix La Sorellina reflects the strong relationship that has been built between Tattersalls and La Teste de Buch Racecourse through our association with French sales company Osarus. The flagship Osarus September Yearling Sale takes place at La Teste and has quickly established itself as an important fixture in the European sales calendar.”

Jean-Marie Plassan, President of La Teste de Buch Racecourse, added;

“Osarus already sponsors the Criterium du Béquet here at La Teste de Buch in August and it is a pleasure to welcome Tattersalls as sponsors of the Prix La Sorellina. We have enjoyed working with Tattersalls since they became involved with Osarus and the Tattersalls sponsorship demonstrates our joint commitment to developing thoroughbred sales alongside the racecourse and thriving training centre at La Teste.”
