The £100,000 Tattersalls Millions Fillies’ Median Auction Stakes at Newmarket Racecourse’s Rowley Miles, was won by the 10-1 shot Wahylah, trained by Clive Brittain. The filly, who is by Shamardal, was knocked down to Yeomanstown Stud at last year’s Tattersalls October Yearling Sale Book 1 for 32,000 gns and is owned by Rabbah Bloodstock.

Her handler commented afterwards, “She had a horrible experience when she last ran at the July Course, the box got stuck in traffic and she was spooked by the TV screens, but I have taken my time to bring her back and restore her confidence. She is better than the filly that won in the Tattersalls Millions races last year, Masaya, and will probably go for a Listed race somewhere, as I would like to keep her at 6 furlongs. It’s good to be winning races like this, as the sales are just around the corner.”Catalogues are out now and available from Tattersalls and Tattersalls representatives and online.

Wahylah finished a neck in front of Julie Woods’ filly Glee, trained by Richard Hannon with Lemon Rock in third.

The next two races in the Tattersalls Millions are the most valuable of the series, the £500,000 Tattersalls Millions 2YO Trophy and the £300,000 Tattersalls Millions 2YO Fillies Trophy on Saturday 1st  October, 2011 whilst Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, featuring the only yearlings eligible for next year’s series takes place from 5th – 7th October.
