Ivawood Wins the G2 Richmond by a wide margin
220,000 guineas Tattersalls October Book 1 purchase IVAWOOD leapt to the head of the 2015 2000 Guineas market with a hugely impressive performance in the Group 2 Richmond Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.
The imposing, unbeaten son of ZEBEDEE is now as low as 8 - 1 for the first Classic of 2015 having carried a 3lb penalty to land his second Group 2 contest by an impressive 4 1/2 lengths.
IVAWOOD was purchased by bloodstock agent Amanda Skiffington on behalf of owners Fiona Carmichael and Ian Jennings at Book 1 of the 2013 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale. The highest priced yearling from the first crop of ZEBEDEE, IVAWOOD is out of the RED RANSOM mare KEENES ROYALE, and was consigned by Kilmoney Cottage Stud.
Tattersalls October Yearling purchases have now won all three of the two year old Group races at Goodwood this week. In addition to IVAWOOD’s win in the Group 2 Richmond Stakes, 75,000 guineas yearling COTAI GLORY won the Group 3 Molecomb Stakes on the opening day, followed by 460,000 guineas buy HIGHLAND REEL in the Group 2 Vintage Stakes.
Book 1 of the 2014 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale takes place Tuesday 7th - Thursday 9th October.
