Tattersalls, Europe’s leading bloodstock auctioneers, has appointed Rob Skeggs as its new Finance Director. Skeggs, aged 49, will join the Newmarket-based firm on April 10th and will succeed long serving Finance Director Paul Ryan who retires June 30th.

Already a well respected figure within British racing, Skeggs will join Tattersalls after seven years as Finance Director of the Levy Board, preceded by a number of senior finance roles including Group Financial Controller for the Tote.

Commenting on his appointment, Skeggs said;

“Tattersalls is a market leader in every sense and a firm respected throughout the global thoroughbred community. I am enormously looking forward to my new role as Tattersalls Finance Director and to joining a company which combines a rich and illustrious history with a reputation for utmost integrity.”

Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony commented;

“Paul Ryan has done an outstanding job as Finance Director for Tattersalls since 2001 and at the same time as wishing him well on his forthcoming retirement, we look forward to welcoming Rob Skeggs to Tattersalls. Rob brings with him a deep understanding of the industry and a wealth of experience, most recently as Finance Director for the Levy Board, and he will be a valuable addition to the Tattersalls Board."
