The Tattersalls December Foal Sale received a timely boost when the Joseph O’Brien - trained REKINDLING won the Group 1 Melbourne Cup this morning. Purchased for just 60,000 guineas at the 2014 renewal of the sale by Camas Park Stud, the son of HIGH CHAPARRAL provided his young trainer with his first Melbourne Cup winner and his owner Lloyd Williams with a record sixth win. 

REKINDLING was bred by Robert & Nick Pocock’s Stringston Farm who purchased his dam SITARA at the Tattersalls December Mare Sale for just 10,000 guineas. The Somerset-based nursery offer a half-sister by dual 2,000 Guineas winner GLENEAGLES as lot 886 at this year’s Tattersalls December Foal Sale.
