Jamie Lloyd and Jim Ford will be hoping history repeats itself after they purchased the two-year-old DESERT STYLE filly SHERMEEN for 160,000 guineas from Jamie Osborne's Kingsdown Stables. It was at the 2003 Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale that the two-year-old filly TICKER TAPE, also consigned from Kingsdown Stables, was purchased by a partnership including Ford before going on to establish herself as one of the top turf fillies in North America with two Grade 1 wins last year. SHERMEEN recieved a timely catalogue update recently when she finished third in the Group 3 Cornwallis Stakes and the daughter of the COMMON GROUNDS mare COVER GIRL is set to go into training with Lloyd who has recently set up a training base at Santa Anita racecourse in California, following stints as assistant trainer to Paddy Gallagher and TICKER TAPE's trainer Jim Cassidy. The filly was purchased for a partnership comprising Ford, Jim Stutts and Rick Holliday after Lloyd saw off the efforts of McKeever St. Lawrence's Johnny McKeever.

Howard Johnson and Graham Wylie have tasted great success at the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale having purchased Cheltenham Festival winners INGLIS DREVER and NO REFUGE here in 2003 and 2004 for 110,000 guineas and 180,000 guineas respectively. The pair will be hoping for similar success with the four-year-old LINAMIX gelding TURNSTILE who was purchased by Irish bloodstock agent Bobby O'Ryan on their behalf after he saw off a spirited effort from Timmy Hyde. Consigned from Richard Hannon's East Everleigh Stables, the three-time winner carried a 'Timeform' rating of 93 following victories at Kempton and Hamilton this year.

The Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale has been a ready source of Dubai Racing Carnival prospects with Group 1 winner RIGHT APPROACH and Group 3 winner and Group 1 Dubai World Cup fourth JACK SULLIVAN both purchased specifically with the Dubai Carnival in mind. The three-year-old MONTJEU colt HIPPODROME is another destined for a future in Dubai after he was purchased by Robert Harrison for 110,000 guineas. Consigned from Ballydoyle Stables, Naas winner HIPPODROME is set to join South African trainer Herman Brown at his Nad Al Sheba stables after Harrison withstood the challenge of locally-based bloodstock agent Johnny McKeever.
