The final and highest priced Ferguson purchase was lot 927, a colt by FANTASTIC LIGHT out of the KAHYASI mare KARSIYAKA who was knocked down for 120,000 guineas. Consigned from Richard Aston's Goldford Stud, the sale represented a major success to the partnership who bred the colt, with KARSIYAKA originally purchased for 25,000 guineas at the 1999 Tattersalls December Mare Sale. FANTASTIC LIGHT stands at Sheikh Mohammed's Dalham Hall Stud outside Newmarket and has been represented by the Group 3 Sirenia Stakes winner PRINCE OF LIGHT as well as Listed winners JALISCO LIGHT and UNDER THE RAINBOW from his first two year old runners. Ferguson landed the grey colt after seeing off the determined effort of Brook Stud's Dwayne Woods.
A RED RANSOM own brother to the Group 1 winner RANSOM O'WAR was another lot to breach the six figure barrier when also purchased by Ferguson for 105,000 guineas. Consigned from Maurice Burns' Rathasker Stud in Ireland, the colt is out of the POLISH PRECEDENT mare SOMBREFFE, herself a three-parts sister to Group 2 Temple Stakes winner SNAADEE and Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes winner RUSSIAN BOND. The ROBERTO horse RED RANSOM also stands at Dalham Hall Stud and has enjoyed success on the racecourse this year with Group 1 Juddmonte International winner ELECTROCUTIONIST and Group 1 Galaxy Stakes winner CHARGE FORWARD in Australia.
Ferguson was to strike again later in the evening when he signed for lot 919, a colt by Darley Stud's first crop sire DUBAI DESTINATION out of the ABSALOM mare LLOC. Consigned from Paul and Sara Thorman's Trickledown Stud in Hampshire on behalf of John Turner, the colt's dam LLOC is a half sister to COMPTON PLACE, the Group 1 July Cup winner bred by Turner whose foals have been in great demand this week. Ferguson secured the colt after a protracted bidding duel with Ashford Stud's Paul Shanahan, who was standing alongside Timmy Hyde Jnr.

Cheveley Park Stud's MEDICEAN has made a good start to his stud career with Group 1 Fillies' Mile winner NANNINA and Group 3 winner ABIGAIL PETT from his first crop and the son of MACHIAVELLIAN is well represented at the Tattersalls December Foal Sale with 25 foals catalogued. The highest priced of the fourteen offered on the opening two days was lot 851, a colt out of the BARATHEA mare ALPINE PARK who was sold for 105,000 guineas. Consigned from Brian Kennedy's Meadowlands Stud in Co. Down on behalf of John Yarr, the colt attracted the interest of numerous pinhookers including agent Jamie Railton, Yeomanstown Stud's Gay O'Callaghan and Camas Park Stud's Timmy Hyde, but none were able to match Croom House Stud manager Paul McCartan. McCartan indicated that the foal would return to the Co. Limerick property and be reoffered as a yearling at Tattersalls in 2006.
