Three year old filly LITTLETON ARWEN always looked likely to top the second day's proceedings following her short head second in the Listed Eternal Stakes at Warwick in late June and so it proved when she was knocked down to Epsom based trainer Terry Mills for 110,000 guineas. Mills, who already trained the daughter of BAHRI, was buying the attractive filly out of the NUREYEV half-sister to Irish 1,000 Guineas winner ENSCONSE for new connections and she will return to his Loretta Lodge Stables. Underbidder on the three year old was the BBA Ireland's Patrick Cooper who had purchased yesterday's second highest priced lot CASSILIS for 88,000 guineas.
Earlier on during the evening's proceedings the three time winner BARNEY MCALL, offered from Amanda Perrett's Coombelands Stables fetched 95,000 guineas to the bid of bloodstock agent James Delahooke. The son of GRAND LODGE will remain in training in England after Delahooke, who enjoyed a long and successful association with Amanda Perrett's father Guy Harwood, saw off the efforts of French based English bloodstock agent Crispin de Moubray.
