The session topper, lot 1755 was the CELTIC SWING filly out of the Grade 3 winning AMERICAN CHANCE mare LASTING CHANCE. Consigned from agent Jamie Railton, the filly caught the eye of Middleham trainer Mark Johnston, although he was unable to match the efforts of the Irish trainer Eamonn Tyrrell. CELTIC SWING has been particularly well represented recently by the efforts of the Champion filly SIX PERFECTIONS and the smart Stakes winning two year old filly SLIP DANCE who is trained by Tyrrell at his Curragh base.
Late in the evening, lot 1771, a filly by ROBELLINO out of the RUDIMENTARY
mare MOLLY BROWN became the second highest price of the day when
knocked down to Irish agent Peter Doyle for 40,000 guineas. Doyle
outbid Newmarket trainer Michael Bell who trains her half sister,
the two time winner and highly rated two year old BRIGHT MOLL. Consigned
from Rob Hughes' Lostford Manor Stud, the filly is set to join trainer
Richard Hannon at his East Everleigh Stables in Wiltshire.
Third highest price of the day was lot 1666, a bay colt by DAYLAMI
out of the winning ROYAL ACADEMY mare AEGEAN DREAM from the family
of Group 1 winner LOUP SAUVAGE. Consigned from Jack Panos' Theobalds
Stud, the colt was knocked down for 34,000 guineas, again to the
bid of agent Peter Doyle, and will also join Hannon at his base near
Marlborough in Wiltshire.
