The daughter of SIOUX NATION was bought by bloodstock agent Alex Elliott at the 2024 Tattersalls Somerville Yearling Sale for 55,000 guineas from Hegarty Bloodstock, who successfully pinhooked her at €20,000 from the Tattersalls Ireland Sapphire Sale as a foal.SIOUX PERFECT led home the Eve Johnson-Houghton pair of COURT ALERT for Middleham Park Racing, who nearly pulled off a remarkable auction race double, and KESTA for the Woodway 20, who enjoyed Royal Ascot success with a graduate of the very first Tattersalls Somerville Yearling Sale with Windsor Castle Stakes winner CHIPOTLE.The 2025 Tattersalls Somerville Yearling Sale will take place in just over a week’s time on Tuesday 2nd September, and Tattersalls have increased the prize money for both the 2026 Tattersalls Somerville Auction Stakes and the 2026 Tattersalls October Auction Stakes to £200,000. The increase doubles the value of the Tattersalls Somerville Auction Stakes and is a £50,000 increase in the prize fund of the Tattersalls October Auction Stakes.Both races are open to any yearling offered at the Tattersalls Somerville Yearling Sale, the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, Book 3 or the Tattersalls Autumn Yearling Sale, or who is withdrawn from any of those sales and subsequently offered at the Tattersalls December Yearling Sale.The £200,000 Tattersalls Somerville Auction Stakes will be run over 6 furlongs at Newmarket’s July Course on 22nd August, 2026 with the £200,000 Tattersalls October Auction Stakes following over 7 furlongs on Newmarket’s Rowley Mile six weeks later on 3rd October, 2026. The notable double has been completed on two occasions to date by 26,000 guineas purchase WOODHAY WONDER in 2023 and 15,500 guineas purchase AMICHI in 2022, both earning in excess of £135,000 for their exploits.The prize money increase will offer even greater opportunities for purchasers at Tattersalls yearling sales to win significant prize money, in addition to the lucrative £25,000 Tattersalls October Book 1 Bonus scheme for all yearlings purchased at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale which has awarded £9,745,000 to the owners of its 415 winners to date.
