Geography Heads Four High Class Wildcards for Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale

GEOGRAPHY winning the Group 2 Oettingen-Rennen at Baden-Baden in early September. He is catalogued as lot 726A at the forthcoming Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale.

The Group 2 winning four-year-old GEOGRAPHY is one of four top-class wildcards that have been added to the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale, the world’s largest horses in training sale, which takes place from Monday, October 27 – Friday, October 31.

The Peter Schiergen trained GEOGRAPHY has won three times this season, the first two in Group 3s at Dusseldorf before an easy victory in the Group 2 Oettingen-Rennen at Baden-Baden. That earned him a tilt at the Group 1 Prix de la Foret at Longchamp on ‘Arc’ day where he finished a close fifth behind MARANOA CHARLIE. Rated 114 by Timeform, the son of HOLY ROMAN EMPEROR will be consigned by Barton Sales as lot 726A.

Also rated 114 by Timeform is Julie Camacho’s five-year-old NAQEEB who won the Listed Foundation Stakes at Goodwood on his most recent start. The likeable son of NATHANIEL and half-brother to BAAEED and HUKUM acts on good to firm going and won over 10 furlongs at his latest start. He will be offered by the Castlebridge Consignment as lot 726B.

Agent Jamie Railton will offer the two-year-old AFJAN as lot 726C. The son of MEHMAS has been one of the better two-year-olds in France for trainer Henri Devin this year, winning the Group 3 Prix d’Arenberg, where he defeated Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes runner-up HAVANA ANNA, and finishing second to TADEJ in the Group 3 Prix de Cabourg. AFJAN, who is rated 109 by Timeform, also took his chance in the Group 1 Prix de l’Abbaye where he finished the best of those runners drawn in a double figure stall in eighth.

The fourth of the initial wildcards is Marco Botti’s Group 2 Italian Derby winner MOLVENO who finished a good fourth at Doncaster last month on his only run since his Italian Classic victory. The three-year-old son of ALMANZOR, he will be offered by his trainer’s Prestige Place as lot 1110A and is rated 110 by Timeform.

The flagbearer this year for the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale is the Gai Waterhouse trained SIR DELIUS who was purchased for 1,300,000 guineas at last year’s sale. The son of FRANKEL has scored two Group 1 victories in Australia this year and is the current favourite for the Cox Plate and Melbourne Cup. Applications for wildcard places are still open and can be made by Monday, 20th October.
