Trade at Park Paddocks continued in robust fashion with a clearance rate of 95% and fourteen lots realising 100,000 guineas or more.Lot 522: Aegina (GB)Aegina Tops Day Two When Fetching 240,000 GuineasConsigned by The Castlebridge Consignment, AEGINA topped day two of the sale when going the way of Elwick Stud for 240,000 guineas. The daughter of HAVANA GREY won or placed on all four starts at two for Donnacha O’Brien, placing in the Listed Legacy Stakes at Dundalk before opening her account in a maiden at the same track. She is out of the SHOWCASING mare TWIST OF HAY who is the half-sister to the Group 3 Athasi Stakes winner, TWILIGHT SPINNER.“She’s a lovely filly,” said Gary Moore, stud manager. “She was the only one we wanted to buy and she’ll come back to us for a rest before we make any plans. “We’ll do what’s best by her, we don’t want to do anything daft, but we’ll aim to send her back into training, whether that’s this year or next year. Hopefully she can pick up some more black type. We bought her to be a broodmare really, the racing bit is an added bonus to be honest. Elaborating on what attracted them to the filly:“Nick picked her out, I went down and saw her and loved her straight away. She’s not over big but she’s strong, she’s a real strong filly. He’ll want to see her himself before he decides anything like who might train her. We’re always trying to upgrade our mares though and she looked like an ideal candidate.”Lot 504F: Capall Rasa (IRE)Capall Rasa Heads Into Training with Ed BethellRoyal Ascot performer CAPALL RASA went the way of Raj Singh, securing the progressive son of FOOTSTEPSINTHESAND for 215,000 guineas. Offered by trainer Tom Dascombe, the three-year-old has a Timeform rating of 104 after producing a highly encouraging performance when fifth in the Britannia Stakes, finishing just two lengths behind the winner.The new owner was sat with trainer Ed Bethell who the horse is set to go into training with.“He looks a fun horse and ran a big race in the Britannia,” said Bethell.“He is really very progressive, and he’s got a nice profile. His new owner Mr. Singh is new to the game and wants some horses to take him to the good days – fingers crossed he’s that type.“He’ll come to us, we’ll see where we’re at with him and train him for some of the big days.”Lot 495: Guardian Of Realm (GB)Sharkey Signs for Guardian Of RealmFrom the ever-popular Juddmonte draft, GUARDIAN OF REALM was knocked down to Colm Sharkey for 210,000 guineas. A winner at Fairyhouse since the catalogue was published, the three-year-old daughter of KINGMAN is out of the Listed winner PRINCIPAL ROLE and is a half-sister to the Group 3 Prix Noailles winner FLIGHT LEADER.When speaking about the filly, Sharkey said:“We had a mark of 200,000 guineas on her, and were not going to lose her for a bid.“We will be looking for some black type, she is a progressive sort and comes recommended. She has been bought for an Irish client and goes into training in Ireland.”Her second dam is the Grade 2 winner INTERIM, dam of the Grade 1 winner MIDSHIPS and INTERIM PAYMENT, dam of the Group 1 winner TEMIDA.Lot 472: Yaupon De Replay (USA)Yaupon De Replay Could Have the US in Her SightsThe Listed Blenheim Stakes debut winner YAUPON DE REPLAY sold for 200,000 guineas to Charlie Swan of BBA Ireland. The three-year-old filly is by the young US sire YAUPON and out of the Listed placed MALIBU MISCHIEF. After placing last week at Naas for trainer Joseph O’Brien, she now boasts an IHRB rating of 97.Commentating on what is next for the filly, Swan said: “She could be going to America, I am not 100 per cent sure.” Lot 504D: Regal Ulixes (GB)Regal Ulixes is Secured for 200,000 GuineasAs well as CAPALL RASA, REGAL ULIXES was another wildcard entry with Royal Ascot form, bought privately for 200,000 guineas by Will Douglass. The four-year-old son of ULYSSES is out of the Group 3 winner REGAL REALM, herself the dam of five winners, including multiple Group winner REGAL REALITY and Listed winner REGAL JUBILEE.After finishing third in the Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes, the Andrew Balding-trained colt gained a Timeform rating of 106.
