Quality Tattersalls Somerville Catalogue Now Online

The catalogue for the sixth Tattersalls Somerville Yearling Sale is now online and can be viewed at www.tattersalls.com. The catalogue features 286 yearlings who will be offered for sale on Wednesday, 2nd September, all of which will be eligible for the £200,000 Tattersalls Somerville Auction Stakes as well as the £200,000 Tattersalls October Auction Stakes.

The Somerville Yearling Sale continued its outstanding reputation of producing top-class juvenile talent in 2026, with 20,000 guineas purchase CELERON landing the Group 2 Railway Stakes on Irish Oaks Day at the Curragh for trainer Michael O’Callaghan. 

The sale has already established an impressive record at Royal Ascot. Its roll of honour is headed by BRADSELL, winner of the Group 2 Coventry Stakes and the Group 1 King’s Stand Stakes, whilst 9,000 guineas purchase HAVANA HURRICANE was triumphant in the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes last year. A further ten Somerville Yearling Sale two-year-olds have been placed at the Royal Meeting in the sale’s short history as well as an outstanding 41 individual Group and Listed performers since 2024.

Other recent Group winning graduates from the sale include 12,000 guineas purchase HALF SOVEREIGN, winner of the Group 3 Prix Miesque, A BIT OF SPIRIT who won the Group 3 Solario Stakes for Clive Cox who was a 75,000 guineas purchase and EL NASSEEB, a dual Group 3 winner in the UAE this year. 

This year’s catalogue features own or half brothers and sisters to 41 Group and Listed performers, and 34 yearlings out of Group and Listed performing mares. Among the highlights are the MEHMAS half-brother to the Grade 1 American Oaks winner LADY PRANCEALOT, and the HARRY ANGEL half-sister to Group 2 Richmond Stakes winner SAAYERR. 

Other lots with smart pedigrees catalogued include the GHAIYYATH filly out of the half-sister to Classic winner CACHET, the KODIAC colt out of an own sister to Group 3 Autumn Stakes winner MILITARY MARCH out of the Group 1 Yorkshire Oaks winner PUNCTILIOUS, and the BATED BREATH colt out of a half-sister to BEAULY, the dam of Derby winner CHRISTMAS DAY.

Progeny of high-class mares catalogued include the SIOUX NATION colt out of the Group winner MIX AND MINGLE, herself a sister to the dual Group 3 winner DOUBLE OR BUBBLE. He will be joined by the TOO DARN HOT half-brother to the Group 3 Sandown Sprint winner and Group 1 Flying Five Stakes third EQUALITY.

Among the proven Group 1 producing sires represented in the catalogue are ACCLAMATION, ARDAD, BLUE POINT, COTAI GLORY, DARK ANGEL, DREAM AHEAD, HAVANA GREY, INVINCIBLE SPIRIT, KAMEKO, KODIAC, MEHMAS, MOHAATHER, NEW BAY, OASIS DREAM, SANDS OF MALI, SHOWCASING, SIOUX NATION, TEN SOVEREIGNS, TERRITORIES and TOO DARN HOT.

First season sires often make a strong impression at the Somerville Yearling Sale and Whitsbury Manor Stud’s DRAGON SYMBOL has 18 catalogued lots, whilst other stallions with their first crop of yearlings catalogued include ANGEL BLEU, BOUTTEMONT, CHALDEAN, EL CABALLO, GOOD GUESS, LITTLE BIG BEAR, LUSAIL, MODERN GAMES, MOSTAHDAF, NATIVE TRIAL, SHAQUILLE and THE ANTARCTIC, TRIPLE TIME. 

The largest draft of yearlings will come from last year’s leading consigner, Tally Ho Stud, with 24 lots catalogued for this year’s sale.

All yearlings catalogued in the Tattersalls Somerville Yearling Sale are eligible for the £200,000 Tattersalls Somerville Auction Stakes as well as the £200,000 Tattersalls October Auction Stakes. Graduates that have completed the sales race double include the 2023 winner, WOODHAY WONDER purchased for 26,000 guineas and 15,500 guineas buy AMICHI in 2022. Among the entries are 58 fillies that are registered for the attractive Great British Bonus scheme and eligible to win up to £20,000 in bonus prize money per qualifying race.
