Exceptional Catalogue for Europe’s Premier Yearling Sale Now Online

The catalogue for Book 1 of the 2026 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, which will take place from Tuesday 6th to Thursday 8th October, is now online and can be viewed at www.tattersalls.com. Europe’s premier yearling sale comprises 469 lots, all of which are eligible for the industry leading £25,000 Tattersalls October Book 1 Bonus scheme, which has paid out £10,645,000 in bonus prizemoney to date to 451 individual winners.

The catalogue for Tattersalls’ flagship yearling sale features an exceptional array of the best-bred yearlings available in Europe, with 19 of the top 20 European sires represented. Leading the way by number of yearlings is WOOTTON BASSETT with 35 lots catalogued, followed by SEA THE STARS (31), LOPE DE VEGA (29), NIGHT OF THUNDER (27), BLUE POINT (24), NO NAY NEVER (23), FRANKEL (21), KINGMAN, MEHMAS and TOO DARN HOT (17 each), and HAVANA GREY and NEW BAY (16 each). The catalogue features own or half-brothers and sisters to a remarkable 44 Classic and Group 1 winners and 219 Group/Listed winners.

The 21 yearlings by Champion Sire FRANKEL comprise multiple siblings to Group 1 winners, including a full brother to Fillies’ Mile winner YLANG YLANG, an own sister to Prix Saint-Alary winner JANNAH ROSE, a half-sister to July Cup winner MILL STREAM, a half-sister to Criterium International winner JOHANNES VERMEER, and a full brother to Belmont Oaks winner MCKULICK. First foals by FRANKEL out of top-class mares include colts out of dual Grade 1 winner CARAVEL, German Oaks winner MUSKOKA and Group 1 runner-up GET AHEAD, alongside a filly out of the remarkable four-time Group 1 winner ALCOHOL FREE.

DUBAWI, sire of a remarkable 63 individual Group 1 winners, has a select group of five yearlings catalogued, including a filly who is the first foal out of Prix Vermeille winner SWEET LADY, a colt out of Oaks winner ANAPURNA, and a half-brother to French 1000 Guineas winner MANGOUSTINE. Fellow Darley stallion BLUE POINT has a strong contingent of yearlings catalogued, including half-sisters to Group 1 winners CHARYN and ESTRANGE, half-brothers to Group 1 winners BATTAASH and MINZAAL, and colts out of Group 1 winning mares SKITTER SCATTER and VERACIOUS.

There are numerous siblings to 2026 Classic and Group 1 winners, including a WOOTTON BASSETT half-brother to Derby winner CHRISTMAS DAY and a half-sister to Tattersalls Irish 1000 Guineas winner PRECISE. Outstanding stayer and Gold Cup winner SCANDINAVIA has a SIYOUNI half-sister catalogued, while Tattersalls Falmouth Stakes and Prix Rothschild winner BLUE BOLT is represented by a BAAEED half-brother. Also on offer are a COTAI GLORY half-sister to Commonwealth Cup winner VENETIAN SUN, a KINGMAN half-brother to King Charles III Stakes winner MISSION CENTRAL, and a HAVANA GREY half-sister to the remarkable ROMANTIC WARRIOR, the world’s leading prizemoney earner.

Other yearlings with siblings who have recorded recent Classic and Group 1 success include the half-brothers to Prix du Jockey Club winners CAMILLE PISSARRO and LOOK DE VEGA by JUSTIFY and STARSPANGLEDBANNER respectively, a NEW BAY half-brother to Prix de la Forêt winner MARANOA CHARLIE, and a HAVANA GREY half-brother to Champion Stakes winner ANMAAT. Last year’s Group 1 winning fillies CONSENT and BARNAVARA have half-sisters catalogued by SIOUX NATION and ST MARK’S BASILICA respectively.

North American buyers have been a key feature of Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale in recent years and will find plenty of familiar names in the catalogue, including half-brothers to triple Grade 1 winners ANISETTE and PROGRAM TRADING by SEA THE STARS and JUSTIFY respectively, NO NAY NEVER half-brothers to Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf winner AUNT PEARL and Grade 1 Belmont Oaks winner KENSINGTON LANE, and a GHAIYYATH half-brother to Grade 1 Sword Dancer Stakes winner EL CORDOBES. Furthermore, Grade 1 E.P. Taylor Stakes winners CURVY and MUTAMAKINA have a filly and colt by SIYOUNI and WOOTTON BASSETT catalogued respectively.

Triple Grade 1 winner and Tattersalls October Book 1 graduate Program Trading has a half-brother by Justify catalogued in Book 1

First-season sires are well represented, with 2000 Guineas and Dewhurst Stakes winner CHALDEAN leading the way with 13 yearlings. Others represented are ACE IMPACT, DRAGON SYMBOL, EL CABALLO, EREVANN, GOOD GUESS, LITTLE BIG BEAR, LUSAIL, MODERN GAMES, NATIVE TRAIL, PADDINGTON, SHAQUILLE, TRIPLE TIME and VADENI. Also represented in Book 1 is a daughter of brilliant six-time Group 1 winner and Japanese Horse of the Year EQUINOX, who is the only yearling from the champion’s much-anticipated first crop to be offered at public auction in Europe.

Last year’s leading consignor, Newsells Park Stud, has the largest draft with 27 yearlings catalogued, followed closely by Baroda Stud, which brings a consignment of 26, including six out of Group 1-winning mares, and The Castlebridge Consignment, which has 25 yearlings catalogued.
