The Roger Varian trained CLAN ROYALE ran out a narrow winner of the Judith Marshall Memorial British EBF Novice Stakes at York to become the 182nd winner of a £25,000 Tattersalls October Book 1 Bonus. His victory was the fifth Book 1 Bonus winner for trainer Roger Varian this year and his ninth overall whilst owner Sheikh Mohamed Obaid was enjoying a remarkable seventh Book 1 Bonus victory in 2019. Clan Royale was purchased at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale by Roger Varian for 200,000 guineas from the draft of European Sales Management.
