Tattersalls October Book 1 graduate DROCHAID became the seventeenth winner of the £25,000 ‘Book 1 Bonus’ last night when victorious in the Betfred Maiden Stakes at Haydock. The Andrew Balding-trained colt nearly covered his purchase price when earning his owners Mick and Janice Mariscotti an impressive £36,446, made up of £3,946 in prize money, £7,500 from the Plus 10 Bonus scheme and £25,000 from the October ‘Book 1 Bonus’.
The son of MASTERCRAFTSMAN is the second foal out of winning mare AVON LADY and was bought from the Meon Valley Stud consignment by Andrew Balding for just 40,000 guineas. Book 1 of this year’s Tattersalls October Yearling Sale takes place October 4-6 and the catalogue is online now.
