The Andrew Balding-trained FOX TAL held on to win the Novice Stakes over 7.5 furlongs at Ffos Las this afternoon and became the 97th winner of a Tattersalls October £25,000 ‘Book 1 Bonus’ in the process. The son of SEA THE STARS won a total of £37,934 for his owner, Thai businessman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha’s King Power Racing Ltd.
Consigned at Book 1 of the October Yearling Sale by Highclere Stud, FOX TAL is out of the SADLER’S WELLS mare MASKUNAH and is a half-brother to Group 3 Cumberland Lodge Stakes winner LAAHEB. SackvilleDonald purchased the bay colt for 475,000 guineas.
The £25,000 October Book 1 Bonus is only for graduates of Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale. This year’s sale takes place from October 9 – 11.
