The Richard Hannon-trained GHAYYAR earned his connections an inpressive £37,028 when taking out the NGK Spark Plugs EBF Stallions Maiden Stakes at Newmarket on Friday night. The son of POWER was piloted by Frankie Dettori and was the first of a two-timer for the former Champion jockey that secured his 3000th British win. GHAYYAR won a £25,000 ‘Book 1 Bonus’ for owners Al Shaqab Racing as well as a ‘Plus 10’ bonus of £7,500 and prize money of £4,528. He was purchased at Book 1 of the October Yearling Sale for 160,000 guineas by Peter & Ross Doyle Bloodstock from the draft of ‘Flash’ Conroy’s Glenvale Stud and is the 19th winner of a £25,000 bonus this year.
