Consigned at Book 1 of the October Yearling Sale by Furnace Mill Stud, the chesnut colt is out of the DAYLAMI mare WHATAMI who is an own sister to the Listed Chesham Stakes winner WHAZZAT, the dam of Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes winner JAMES GARFIELD. JUAN ELCANO was purchased at the sale by Kevin Ryan and Stephen Hillen for 360,000 guineas.
