The Roger Varian-trained PRINCE EIJI was a smart winner on debut of the Charbonnel Et Walker British EBF Maiden Stakes at Ascot this afternoon and also became the 117th winner of a Tattersalls October £25,000 Book 1 Bonus. The son of DUBAWI earned a total of £40,263 for his owner Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum, made up of £7,763 in prize money, £7,500 from the Plus 10 Bonus scheme and of course £25,000 worth of Book 1 Bonus. The regally bred PRINCE EIJI is out of dual Group 1 winning PIVOTAL mare IZZI TOP and was purchased by Roger Varian at Book 1 of the October Yearling Sale for 2.6 million guineas from consignor Meon Valley Stud. The £25,000 October Book 1 Bonus is only for graduates of Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale. This year’s sale takes place from October 9 – 11.
