The Sir Michael Stoute trained QAROUN became the 65th winner of a £25,000 Tattersalls October Book 1 Bonus landing the Don Deadman Memorial EBF Maiden at Newbury for owners Al Shaqab Racing. QAROUN was Al Shaqab’s second Book 1 Bonus winner of the week following the success of the Richard Hannon trained ALGAM.
By Yeomanstown Stud’s DARK ANGEL, QAROUN earned £37,028 for his owners, having been purchased by Nicolas de Watrigant for 220,000 guineas. Consigned by Heatherwold Stud, QAROUN is the first foal out of the winning EXCEED AND EXCEL mare EXOTIC ISLE who is a daughter of the Listed winning sprinter PARADISE ISLE.
The £25,000 Tattersalls October Book 1 Bonus is exclusively for horses bought at Book 1of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale which takes place October 3rd – 5th.
