The Andrew Balding trained SOUTH SEAS won the EBF Novice Stakes at Newbury yesterday easily and collected £29,269 for the victory, made up of the £25,000 October ‘Book 1 Bonus’ and £4,269 in prize money. The son of LOPE DE VEGA has now won his only two starts for owners Qatar Racing. SOUTH SEAS was purchased at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale for 145,000 guineas by David Redvers Bloodstock from Yeomanstown Stud.
