Born To Be wins ‘Book 1 Bonus’ and Collects 48,657 Euros

The John Oxx-trained BORN TO BE was an easy winner of the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden at Cork this evening, earning his owners a £25,000 October ‘Book 1 Bonus’, which in addition to prize money of €9,532 and a Plus 10 Bonus of €9,375 accumulated to an impressive €48,657 on only his third outing. The bay colt is from the family of Group 3 winner LOVE OF SILVER and a son of first-season sire BORN TO SEA, a runner up to CAMELOT in the Irish Derby under the same owner-trainer partnership. As a yearling BORN TO BE was bought back at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale by current owners Sunderland Holding Inc for 98,000 guineas. He is the sixteenth winner of the £25,000 ‘Book 1 Bonus’. This year’s sale takes place on October 4-6.
