There are 1587 lots catalogued for the world’s largest horses in training sale, including the Group 1 Poule d’Essai des Poulains second JONQUIL and some high-class entries from the Exors of the Late Sheikh Mohammed Obaid.JONQUIL winning the Celebration Mile Stakes (Group 2) at GoodwoodRated 117 by Timeform, the beautifully bred son of LOPE DE VEGA out of DUBAWI mare JOVIAL, JONQUIL was a debut winner at two, before landing the Group 3 Greenham Stakes on his seasonal reappearance at three. Trained by Andrew Balding, the Juddmonte-owned colt subsequently finished second in the Group 1 Poule d’Essai des Poulains on his next start before winning the Group 2 Celebration Mile Stakes at Goodwood later that summer. Joining him as part of Juddmonte’s 18 horse draft will be the last time out winners SHIPBOURNE and EXPOSURE, who are Timeform rated 104 and 100 respectively and ACCREDIT, a twice winning son of ENTITLE, the half-sister to champion mare ENABLE. Enthusiasts of the ever-popular Godolphin consignment will be well catered for with 56 lots catalogued including some high-profile offerings on behalf of the late Sheikh Mohammed Obaid. They include the high-quality Listed winners LIBERTY LANE and BOILING POINT, both boasting Timeform ratings of 117 and the Group 2 Celebration Mile winner ICE MAX who is Timeform rated 116.LIBERTY LANE pictured after winning the Listed James Seymour Stakes at NewmarketCoolmore, consignors of multiple Group 1 winner SIR DELIUS in 2024, have a 41-lot draft on offer this year including two top-class sons of WOOTTON BASSETT. Group 1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud winner TENNESSEE STUD and Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint second BRUSSELS are both catalogued. Also set to be offered is the evergreen Group 1 Lockinge Stakes winner AUDIENCE who has been placed at Group level on five occasions this year for trainer David O’Meara. The son of IFFRAAJ is rated Timeform rated 111 and will be consigned by Baroda Stud.The largest consignment comes from the Castlebridge Consignment who are set to offer 230 lots including Saturday’s Cambridgeshire winner PIERRE ROYALE and the John & Thady Gosden-trained WARRANT HOLDER, who was third in the Group 3 September Stakes behind PRIDE OF ARRAS on his most recent start and holds a Timeform rating of 116. Castlebridge also consign the highly rated two-year-old SCYTHE who won on debut before being beaten a short head in the Group 3 Tattersalls Prix Eclipse at Chantilly earlier this month. The highest rated two-year-old in the catalogue is the 107-rated HELL OF A SPIN, the Adrian Keatley-trained son of NAVAL CROWN who was a narrow third in the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes following on from placings in the Group 2 Gimcrack and Group 3 Molecomb Stakes. He will be offered by Consign Ltd. The largest trainer’s consignment comes from Andrew Balding’s Kingsclere Training Stables with 48 lots followed by Charlie Johnston’s Kingsley Park with 38 lots. William Haggas’ Somerville Lodge has 37 lots catalogued including the unbeaten three-year-old FRANKEL colt MATINS who boasts a Timeform rating of 117p following an impressive 5 ½ length victory at Epsom on the weekend.
