The catalogue for Book 1 of the 2025 Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, which will take place from Tuesday 7th to Thursday 9th October, is now online and can be viewed at www.tattersalls.com Europe’s premier yearling sale numbers 537 lots, all of which are eligible for the industry leading £25,000 Tattersalls October Book 1 Bonus scheme which has paid out £9,620,000 in bonus prize money to date to 410 individual winners.

The flagship Tattersalls yearling sale has attracted an outstanding collection of the finest yearlings to be found anywhere in the world, including 11 yearlings by DUBAWI, 30 by FRANKEL, 27 by KINGMAN, 33 by LOPE DE VEGA, 34 by NIGHT OF THUNDER, 27 by NO NAY NEVER, 35 by SEA THE STARS, and 30 by WOOTTON BASSETT. The catalogue features own or half-brothers and sisters to a remarkable 50 Classic and Group 1 winners and 264 Group/Listed winners.

The 30 yearlings catalogued by dual Champion sire FRANKEL are led by the own-brother to the ‘Arc’ and six-time Group 1 winner ALPINISTA, as well as colts out of an outstanding collection of international Group and Grade 1 winners including the French 1000 Guineas winner PRECIEUSE, dual Australian Group 1 winner CON TE PARTIRO and the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint winner GLASS SLIPPERS, as well as a half-brother to Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf winner AUNT PEARL. Fillies by FRANKEL include the half-sisters to European Champion Sprinter BATTAASH and to four-time Group 1 winner LUXEMBOURG as well as daughters of Group 1 winners SEA LA ROSA, VILLA MARINA and WONDERFUL TONIGHT.

Leading sire DUBAWI has an exceptional collection of yearlings catalogued led by half-sisters to the Classic winners ST MARK’S BASILICA and MAGNA GRECIA, and to the ‘Arc’ winner and European Champion WALDGEIST, as well as a daughter of beautifully bred Group 1 winner GOD GIVEN. They will be joined by the half-brother to Champion Two Year Old Filly COMMISSIONING and colts out of Group 1 winners LADY BOWTHORPE, ROMANTIC PROPOSAL and SNOW LANTERN, as well as the Tattersalls Irish 1000 Guineas winner PEACEFUL.

Four further 1000 Guineas winners have sons or daughters catalogued led by the TOO DARN HOT colt out of the European Champion Two Year Filly and dual Guineas winner ATTRACTION and the filly by SIYOUNI out of the French 1000 Guineas winner TEPPAL. Irish 1000 Guineas winners AGAIN and NIGHTIME are represented by a filly and colt respectively, both by WOOTTON BASSETT. NIGHTIME is already the dam of two Group 1 winners in ZHUKOVA and European Champion GHAIYYATH, who is himself represented as a sire in the catalogue by the half-sister to outstanding three-year-old FIELD OF GOLD, winner of this year’s Tattersalls Irish 2000 Guineas.

Epsom Classic form is also well represented with the ST MARK’S BASILICA half-brother to Derby winner ANTHONY VAN DYCK and the FRANKEL half-brother to Derby runner up MADHMOON, as well as the filly by PALACE PIER out of the Oaks winner ANAPURNA.

The total number of Classic and Group/Grade 1 winning mares with progeny catalogued stands at an impressive 25 out of 153 Group/Listed winning dams represented in total. Among them are colts by NO NAY NEVER out of Group 1 winners MILLISLE and AMAZING MARIA, colts out of Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf winner QUEEN’S TRUST and Breeders’ Cup Mile winner UNI by BAAEED and SOTTSASS respectively, and daughters of Champion Two Year Old Fillies SHALE and SKITTER SCATTER as well as the Group 1 Falmouth Stakes winner MUSIC SHOW. 

Well over a third of the yearlings catalogued are by the top ten sires currently standing in Europe and devotees of first season sires are also well catered for with a strong cohort of freshmen represented including Group 1 winners BAAEED, BAYSIDE BOY, BLACKBEARD, MINZAAL, NAVAL CROWN, PERFECT POWER, STATE OF REST, STRADIVARIUS and THUNDER MOON as well as dual Breeders’ Cup winner GOLDEN PAL. Several of the standout young sires of recent seasons are strongly represented with 22 lots catalogued by BLUE POINT, 17 by HAVANA GREY, 22 by MEHMAS and 16 by TOO DARN HOT.

The largest draft comes from the Castlebridge Consignment with 40 lots followed by last year’s leading consignor Newsells Park Stud who will offer 29 yearlings, including the FRANKEL own-brother to last year’s 4,400,000 guineas sale topping filly out of the Group 2 Duke of Cambridge Stakes winner ALJAZZI.
