Five high class race fillies have been added as wildcards to the Tattersalls December Mares Sale in addition to the previously announced KENSEA, the dam of Group 1 winning duo SEALIWAY and SUNWAY.  

The wildcard quintet are led by the lightly raced Group 3 winner ARAMINTA, who will be offered in training by Barton Sales as lot 1548A on Monday 4th December immediately after the first Sceptre Session. The three-year-old filly was an easy winner of both the Group 3 Prix Chloe at Chantilly and Goodwood’s Listed Height of Fashion Stakes, and was fourth in the Group 2 Blandford Stakes on her most recent start. Trained by Henry Candy, the 106 rated daughter of GLENEAGLES is out of the European Champion three-year-old sprinter MINCE.  

Joining ARAMINTA on Monday are two high class fillies offered out of training. The Imperium Sales consigned NIGIRI was runner up in the Group 3 Sceptre Stakes to Group 2 winner MATILDA PICOTTE and is a half-sister to the Listed scorer ENCRYPTED. By LOPE DE VEGA out of a Listed placed daughter of DANSILI, NIGIRI will be offered as lot 1548B. STAR GIRLS AALMAL will be offered by Norelands Stud as lot 1548C and boasts high class form including when fourth in the Group 1 Tattersalls Irish 1000 Guineas, the Group 3 Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot and the Group 3 Park Express Stakes. The four-year-old daughter of ELZAAM is a half-sister to Group 3 winning filly CREATE BELIEF from the family of Derby winner and European Champion three-year-old AUTHORIZED.

The wildcards are completed by two Listed winning two-year-old fillies in training, GRACEFUL THUNDER and PIPSY, who will be offered as lot 1825A and lot 1825B immediately after Tuesday’s Sceptre Session. Trained by George Boughey for Amo Racing, GRACEFUL THUNDER won the Listed Prix de la Vallée d’Auge at Deauville and was beaten just half a length into third in Longchamp’s Group 3 Prix d’Arenberg. Offered with an official rating of 100 by Baroda Stud, GRACEFUL THUNDER is an own-sister to this year’s Grade 2 Del Mar Derby placegetter ALMENDARES by exceptional young sire HAVANA GREY and comes from the immediate family of European Champion sprinter FLEETING SPIRIT.  

The Ger Lyons trained PIPSY was an impressive winner of a high class renewal of the Listed Legacy Stakes at Dundalk on just her third start, following up her three and a half length maiden victory at the Curragh. Consigned by Kilcarn Park, the 100 rated daughter of KODIAC is out of a HIGH CHAPARRAL half-sister to the multiple Group/Grade 1 placed ZIYAD from the outstanding Wildenstein family of Champion mare AQUARELLISTE.  

The Tattersalls December Mares Sale will take place from Monday 4th December to Thursday 7th December and features the Sceptre Sessions on Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th December. The catalogue is online now and available from Tattersalls and Tattersalls representatives.
