The Classic placed Group 3 winning GALILEO colt NORWAY looks set to be amongst the highlights of the four day Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale which takes place Monday 28th to Thursday 31st October. The world’s largest horses in training sale numbers 1,556 lots and can be viewed online at www.tattersalls.com.

 

Third in the Irish Derby, the Aidan O’Brien trained three year old colt landed a Leopardstown Group 3 on his latest start having previously finished third behind subsequent impressive St Leger winner LOGICIAN in the Group 2 Great Voltigeur. Currently boasting an official rating of 113, NORWAY is one of 53 lots catalogued from Ballydoyle Stables alongside the Group and Listed winning quartet of three year olds, ALL THE KING’S MEN, BLENHEIM PALACE, LANCASTER HOUSE and WESTERN AUSTRALIA.

 

The world’s largest sale of horses in training, from which 2019 Group 1 winners HARLEM and SHRAAOH were purchased, features more than 80 Group and Listed performers including 2019 winners ANOTHER BATT, RAISE YOU, SEXTANT, SHARJA BRIDGE and SURREY THUNDER, as well as the Group 3 and Listed winning two year olds STREAMLINE and SIR BORIS. Currently the Timeform top rated horse in the catalogue is the high class 118 rated Sir Michael Stoute trained stayer MEKONG who ran a close second behind the multiple Group 1 placed DEE EX BEE in the Group 3 Henry II Stakes at Sandown.


2019 Australian Group 1 winner HARLEM, the 520,000 guineas sale topper at the 2016 sale, has provided yet another reminder of why the Juddmonte consignment is an annual highlight of the Autumn Horses in Training Sale. This year’s 38 strong Juddmonte team, which sells on Monday 28th October, looks as enticing as ever with 16 of the consignment officially rated 90 or higher including Group and Listed performers BOARDMAN, BREATH OF AIR, BROAD STREET, CROSSED BATON, EQUILATERAL, IMAGING, IN FAVOUR, VANBRUGH and WEEKENDER. 

Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum’s ever popular Shadwell consignment numbers 70 lots including AL AAKIF, BAASEM, MAAWARD, MONTATHAM, MULTAMIS, SAWWAAH and WAFY all of whom are rated 95 or above by Timeform. The largest consignment in the sale is the team of 107 coming from The Castlebridge Consignment which features the smart unbeaten two year old COBBER KAIN and promising John Gosden trained three year olds ARABIST, BALTIC SONG, GOLD STICK, LADY LAWYER, MARHABA MILLIAR, QUESTIONARE, SCENTASIA and SUCELLUS. The two largest UK trainers’ consignments are the 62 coming from Richard Hannon’s powerful East Everleigh Stables and the 51 from Richard Fahey’s Malton - based Musley Bank Stables, while Sir Michael Stoute’s Freemason Lodge Stables has 17 catalogued, Mark Johnston’s Kingsley House has 25 and Tim Easterby’s Habton Grange Stables has a team of 47. Irish trainers including Michael Halford, Joseph O’Brien, John Oxx, Jim Bolger, Johnny Murtagh, Michael O’Callaghan, Fozzy Stack and Dermot Weld are well represented and buyers will also find significant numbers of high class winners from France and Germany.
