Japan Wins 120th £25,000 Book 1 Bonus and Earns 48,206 Euros

The Aidan O’Brien trained JAPAN became the 120th winner of a £25,000 Tattersalls October Book 1 Bonus when taking out the Irish EBF Maiden Stakes at Listowel this afternoon, earning his connections a total of €48,206.  The regally bred son of GALILEO is out of proven DANEHILL mare SHASTYE, and hence a full brother to multiple Group 1 performers SIR ISAAC NEWTON and SECRET GESTURE.  

Newsells Park Stud consigned JAPAN at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale where he was purchased by MV Magnier for 1.3 million guineas.  Newsells are also set to offer a full brother at this year’s sale, catalogued as lot 109.

The £25,000 October Book 1 Bonus is only for graduates of Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale. This year’s sale takes place from October 9 – 11.
