The Tattersalls Somerville Yearling Sale’s emphasis on conformation and precocity has been borne out by an exceptional year on the racecourse for purchases from the inaugural sale, with Group 2 Coventry Stakes winner BRADSELL, the Weatherbys Super Sprint winner EDDIE’S BOY and Listed winner NEW COLLECTION among the highlights. These successes and the vibrancy of the inaugural sale have resulted in a catalogue of genuine quality and depth, with own or half brothers and sisters to 58 Group and Listed performers, including star graduate EDDIE’S BOY.

Amongst the highlights of the colts on offer are a PROFITABLE half-brother to Group 2 winner YONKERS, a MAYSON half-brother to Group 3 winner and Group 1 placed VENTURA REBEL and a ULYSSES half-brother to Grade 3 winner LADY PIMPERNEL. Smartly bred fillies are led by a PROFITABLE half-sister to the Group 1 winner SALUTE THE SOLDIER, a KODIAC full-sister to Group 3 winning sprinter KOROPICK and a DARK ANGEL half-sister to Grade 2 winner AMADE and Group 3 winner NAKUTI.

In total there are siblings to 216 two-year-old winners catalogued and 79 yearlings out of dams who themselves won at two. An impressive 43 yearlings are out of Group/Listed winning or placed mares with high class juvenile form featuring prominently, including a colt by SHOWCASING out of the Listed Marygate Stakes winner DELIZIA and a filly by DARK ANGEL out of the dual Listed winner REGATTA.

Commenting on the catalogue for the Tattersalls Somerville Yearling Sale, Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony said;

“It is a fitting tribute to the sale’s ethos of precocious, well conformed yearlings that the Tattersalls Somerville Yearling Sale and its predecessor the Tattersalls Ascot Yearling Sale have produced Royal Ascot two-year-old winners for two consecutive years. The strength of last year’s sale and the outstanding season enjoyed by its graduates to date has resulted in a catalogue of real quality and depth. We are also looking forward to the inaugural £100,000 Tattersalls Somerville Auction Stakes which provides an additional incentive to buyers, alongside the Tattersalls Somerville Yearling Sale’s burgeoning reputation as a consistent source of top-class juvenile talent.”

The catalogue is online now at www.tattersalls.com and will be available from Tattersalls and Tattersalls representatives from Monday, 1st August.
