See The Fire to be Offered in the Sceptre Sessions at the Tattersalls December Mares Sale

The beautifully bred and top-class race mare SEE THE FIRE will be offered at the Tattersalls December Mares Sale, which takes place from Monday 30th November to Thursday 3rd December. The Littleton Stud homebred filly will be consigned by Andrew Balding’s Park House Stables and is set to be one of the highlights of the fifth edition of the widely acclaimed Sceptre Sessions, which showcases the finest fillies and mares in Europe.

See The Fire winning the Group 2 Middleton Fillies’ Stakes by 12 lengths

SEE THE FIRE is by the Classic winner and outstanding sire SEA THE STARS and out of the DUBAWI mare ARABIAN QUEEN, winner of the Group 1 Juddmonte International and herself a daughter of the dual Group 2 Lancashire Oaks winner BARSHIBA. SEE THE FIRE was the Joint Champion Older Female in Europe in the long-distance category in 2025, a season in which she won the Group 2 Middleton Stakes at York by 12 lengths. She successfully defended her Middleton Stakes crown this year and has been placed in seven Group 1 races during her distinguished career, including a short neck defeat to BARNAVARA in last year’s Prix de l’Opéra. SEE THE FIRE is the only daughter of SEA THE STARS placed at Group 1 level at two, three, four and five years of age including the Nassau Stakes (three times), the Fillies’ Mile, the Sun Chariot Stakes and the Prince of Wales’s Stakes.

SEE THE FIRE boasts an exceptional pedigree. She is a half-sister to this year’s Group 2 Italian Derby winner VENETIAN PRINCE, the Group 2 Royal Lodge Stakes runner-up ROYAL PLAYRIGHT, and the Listed-placed ARABIAN STORM. Her NO NAY NEVER half-sister FORBIDDEN FIRE made an impressive winning debut in a novice contest at Salisbury last Wednesday and is expected to head to the Group 1 Tattersalls Sceptre Sessions Cheveley Park Stakes for trainer Andrew Balding. ARABIAN QUEEN’s siblings include AUSTRALIAN QUEEN, dam of recent Britannia Stakes second OUTBACK HEAT, and COSMOPOLITAN QUEEN, who was purchased at the Tattersalls December Mares Sale by Katsumi Yoshida and whose KINGMAN colt realised ¥330,000,000 (£1.9m) as a yearling in Japan. ARABIAN QUEEN is currently in foal to SEA THE STARS.

Commenting on SEE THE FIRE’s inclusion in the Sceptre Sessions, Littleton Stud Manager David Bowe said:

“See The Fire has given Jeff Smith and the Littleton Stud team some wonderful days on the racecourse and has been a model of consistency throughout her career. She is a gorgeous-looking filly, incredibly sound, and has competed at the highest level, running in Group 1 company on a remarkable 14 occasions.

“She comes from a family that Littleton Stud has cultivated over four generations and, while there are mixed feelings about selling her, she represents a tremendous opportunity for breeders. The Sceptre Sessions at the Tattersalls December Mares Sale provides a wonderful stage on which to showcase her. She will be offered in training and gives both owners and breeders the chance to acquire a top-class racehorse from one of the finest families in the Stud Book.

“She will undoubtedly make a wonderful broodmare in the future, and we are excited to offer her at Tattersalls.”

Tattersalls Managing Director Matthew Prior added:

“See The Fire is an outstanding racehorse and it is a privilege to offer her for sale at the Tattersalls December Mares Sale on behalf of Jeff Smith’s Littleton Stud.

“The Sceptre Sessions were created to showcase elite fillies and mares within Europe’s premier breeding stock sale, and with a race record and pedigree of her calibre, See The Fire will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of this year’s sale. She is sure to appeal to leading racing and breeding interests both domestically and internationally.”

The Tattersalls December Mares Sale takes place from 30th November to 3rd December, and entries are now open.
