Tattersalls Guineas Breeze Up and Horses in Training Catalogue Now Online

The catalogue for the 2026 Tattersalls Guineas Breeze Up and Horses in Training Sale can now be viewed online at www.tattersalls.com. The sale features 201 breeze up two-year-olds and will take place 29th – 30th April with the two-year-olds breezing at Newmarket’s Rowley Mile Racecourse on Wednesday, 29th April starting at 9.00am. The Horses in Training section numbers 151 lots with the sale taking place on Thursday, 30th April at 9.30am followed immediately by the Guineas Breeze Up lots.

Highlights amongst the well-related lots catalogued in the Tattersalls Guineas Breeze Up Sale include the BLACKBEARD half-brother to Grade 2 winner ETERNAL HOPE, the STARSPANGLEDBANNER half-brother to the Group 3 Leopardstown 2000 Guineas Trial winner BATTLE CRY, out of the Listed winning I’LL HAVE ANOTHER and the ST MARK’S BASILICA half-brother to the Group 2 Lowther Stakes winner MISS AMULET. They will be joined by a filly from the first crop of Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner TORQUATOR TASSO out of the GALILEO mare FLYING, a sister to Group 1 winners MISTY FOR ME and BALLYDOYLE, and the dam of Group 2 Champagne Stakes third AFTERMATH.

No fewer than 40 of the stallions with two-year-olds catalogued have already sired Classic or Group/Grade 1 winners, including ACCLAMATION, BLUE POINT, CAMELOT, CHURCHILL, DARK ANGEL, GHAIYYATH, GLENEAGLES, HAVANA GREY, INVINCIBLE SPIRIT, KODIAC, NEW BAY, NO NAY NEVER, OASIS DREAM, SEA THE MOON, SHOWCASING, SIOUX NATION, SPACE BLUES, ST MARK’S BASILICA, STARMAN, STARSPANGLEDBANNER and STUDY OF MAN.

Grade 1 producing American stallions AMERICAN PHAROAH, DAREDEVIL, GIRVIN, MUNNINGS and PRACTICAL JOKE are also represented and there are 13 first crop sires with two-year-olds catalogued including BAYSIDE BOY, BLACKBEARD, CATURRA, DUBAWI LEGEND, MINZAAL, NAVAL CROWN, PERFECT POWER, PERSIAN FORCE, SPACE TRAVELLER, STATE OF REST, TEXAS, THUNDER MOON & TORQUATOR TASSO.

Owners and trainers looking to benefit from additional incentives are well catered for with 18 fillies registered for the Great British Bonus Scheme and nine two-year-olds qualified for French Owners’ Premiums. A further 36 juveniles are entered in the 2026 Swedish Derby and Oaks Series, two in the £200,000 Tattersalls Somerville Auction Stakes and one in the £200,000 Tattersalls October Auction Stakes.

The Horses in Training section of the Guineas Sale features 151 lots with Consign Ltd offering the largest consignment of 23 lots, followed closely by Jamie Railton whose draft of 22 includes a partial dispersal of nine horses from Jim & Claire Ltd, whilst the Castlebridge Consignment have a draft of 20 lots.

Consignments from leading owner/breeders are always in great demand and Juddmonte, Godolphin and Shadwell have eleven, four and three lots catalogued respectively. The Juddmonte draft includes a number of beautifully bred unraced colts in training including three-year-olds SUMMONS, the SEA THE STARS colt out of the Grade 1 Matriarch Stakes winner VIADERA, INFORM, the OASIS DREAM colt out of Group 1 Prix Jean Romanet winner ANNOUNCE and SARPEDON, the KINGMAN own-brother to Royal Ascot winner and Group 1 Dewhurst Stakes fourth SANGARIUS.

“The Tattersalls Guineas Breeze Up Sale has delivered a remarkable 43 individual Group/Listed performers since 2023 which is ample evidence of the great value to be found. This year’s catalogue looks to have plenty of quality and diversity which will appeal to the usual cross section of domestic and international buyers who frequent Park Paddocks. The catalogue also features 151 horses in training which only adds to the appeal of this unique fixture ahead of Guineas weekend in Newmarket.”

Catalogues will be available from Tattersalls and Tattersalls overseas representatives from Thursday, 2nd April. The breeze for the Tattersalls Guineas Breeze Up will take place at Newmarket’s Rowley Mile Racecourse on Wednesday, 29th April starting at 9.00am and will be shown live on the Tattersalls website via Sale Day Live, and on the Tattersalls Facebook page and YouTube channel.
