The Brad Cox-trained AUNT PEARL became the second Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, Book 1 purchase in three years to win the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf after NEWSPAPEROFRECORD’s victory two years ago. The daughter of LOPE DE VEGA ran out a dominant winner of the race at only her third start which also saw Tattersalls yearling purchases MISS AMULET and CAMPANELLE finish third and fourth.

Like NEWSPAPEROFRECORD, AUNT PEARL is by Ballylinch Stud’s resident stallion LOPE DE VEGA and it was the Irish nursery who consigned her to Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale where she was purchased by Bradley Weisbord’s BSW Euro Venture and agent Liz Crow for 280,000 guineas.

AUNT PEARL is out of the Listed placed HURRICANE RUN mare MATAURI PEARL who is a half-sister to the Group winner and Group 1 Prix Saint-Alary second WEKEELA. She is also from the extended family of champion German sire MONSUN.

The next chance to buy a yearling at Tattersalls is at the December Yearling Sale that takes place on November 23. Catalogues are online now and available from Tattersalls and Tattersalls representatives.
