Twelve Wildcards Added to Tattersalls July Sale

Twelve wildcards have been added to the Tattersalls July Sale, which will take place from Tuesday 7th to Thursday 9th July, including CAPALL RASA who produced a highly encouraging performance when fifth in the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot, finishing just two lengths behind the winner.

A winner of his last two starts as a two-year-old, the Tom Dascombe-trained son of FOOTSTEPSINTHESAND boasts a Timeform rating of 102, having contested the Esher Cup and London Gold Cup before his Royal Ascot run, and is catalogued as lot 504F.

Another with Royal Ascot form is REGAL ULIXES, placed in the Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes and to be offered as lot 504D by Andrew Balding’s Kingsclere Training Stables with a Timeform rating of 106. The four-year-old son of ULYSSES is out of the Group 3 winner REGAL REALM, herself the dam of five winners, including two black type performers. The trainer will also consign lot 504C, a smart three-year-old colt in A TASTE OF GLORY for Ahmad Al Shaikh’s Green Team Racing. The son of SOILDER HOLLOW is a dual winner and carries a Timeform rating of 93.

Consign will offer the 98 Timeform rated SUPER SOLDIER, placed in the Group 2 Prix Robert Papin for Karl Burke, alongside the consistent DAPPER VALLEY, a winner or placed in eleven starts for James Owen with a Timeform rating of 98. They will be offered as lot 229C and 229D respectively.

The wildcard entries also feature several promising two-year-olds, headed by CHAN NOIR, a son of BLACKBEARD out of the Stakes winning CAPE CROSS mare DANCER CROSS who made a winning debut for Jane Chapple-Hyam. Awarded a Timeform rating of 74p, he will be offered as lot 504E. Two progressive juveniles by COTAI GLORY also feature. Lot 229B is the dual winner DUIDIN for John Butler, last seen winning a novice under a penalty by five lengths, and the lightly raced PISIFFIK GINGER, who opened her account on her second start in a typically strong Leopardstown maiden for Jessica Harrington and will be consigned by Baroda Stud as lot 229F.

Baroda Stud will also offer the 101 Timeform rated NIGHT OF THUNDER colt TIBERIUS THUNDER as lot 229E on behalf of Amo Racing Limited. Out of the Group 3 Park Stakes winner ELLTHEA, the four-year-old boast high-class middle distance form, illustrated by a third in the Group 3 Ballysax Stakes and fourth place finishes in the Group 2 Mooresbridge and Group 3 Hampton Court Stakes.

Marco Botti’s Prestige Place will offer the MEHMAS colt TYRANT GG as lot 243D while Shadwell Estate Company Ltd. will offer EL NAY. The three-year-old son of PALACE PIER out of the FRANKEL mare ANGHAAM has been placed in five of his six starts and is Timeform rated 83. 

Rounding off the wildcard entries is BATTLE OF MALDON, a three-year-old son of SAXON WARRIOR who will be offered as lot 504A by the Castlebridge Consignment.
