Two Dark Angel Colts Added to Tattersalls December Foal Sale

Two well-bred DARK ANGEL colts consigned by Barton Stud have been added as wildcards to the Tattersalls December Foal Sale and will sell on Friday 26th November. Europe’s premier foal sale numbers 1072 lots and will take place from Wednesday 24th November to Saturday 27th November.   

The first son of DARK ANGEL is lot 999A out of the winning DUBAWI mare NAWASSI, a daughter of the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes winner MAQAASID, who placed in both the 1000 Guineas and the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes. MAQAASID is a sister to Group 1 producers ISTISHAARY, the dam of Group 1 winner IL FORNAIO, and JUMOOH, the dam of Group 1 Sydney Cup winner SHRAAOH, Group 2 winner RAHEEN HOUSE and the Listed winners BORN WITH PRIDE and SEA OF FAITH. MAQAASID is out of a half-sister to 1000 Guineas winner GHANAATI, the Oaks placed RUMOUSH and the Group 1 runner-up MAWATHEEQ.  

The second of the two DARK ANGEL wildcards is lot 999B and the March foaled colt boasts an equally blue-blooded pedigree. His dam SHUROOQ is by DUBAWI out of exceptional racemare NATAGORA, the winner of the 1000 Guineas, the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes and five times Group 1 placed. NATAGORA, who was Champion two year old filly in England in 2007, has herself produced two stakes performers, the Listed winner MANKIB and SHUROOQ’s Listed placed full-sister RAAQY, and she is the granddam of Group 3 Sweet Solera Stakes winner TAJAANUS and the Group 3 runner-up MOTAFAAWIT.
