Western Australia wins 115th £25,000 October Book 1 Bonus

The Aidan O’Brien-trained WESTERN AUSTRALIA made all to win the Irish Champions Weekend Maiden at Gowran Park this afternoon, at the same time becoming the 115th winner of a Tattersalls October £25,000 Book 1 Bonus. The son of Coolmore Stud’s exciting first season sire AUSTRALIA earned a total of 37,920 euros for her ownership partnership of Derrick Smith, Mrs John Magnier and Michael Tabor.

Pier House Stud consigned the son of winning mare WHAT A TREASURE, an own sister to Group 1 Prix de la Foret winner TOYLSOME, at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale where he was purchased by MV Magnier for 260,000 guineas. The £25,000 October Book 1 Bonus is only for graduates of Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale. This year’s sale takes place from October 9 – 11.
