Youth Spirit and Master Of Reality Head Eleven Wildcards Added to Tattersalls Autumn HIT Sale

Eleven wildcards, headed by the Group 3 Chester Vase winner YOUTH SPIRIT and Group 1 Gold Cup placed MASTER OF REALITY, have been added to the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale, which takes place from Monday, 25th October to Thursday, 28th October.

Catalogued as lot 1186A, the Andrew Balding trained YOUTH SPIRIT was fifth on his most recent start in the Group 1 St Leger and has also been placed in the Group 2 Great Voltigeur Stakes and the Group 2 Vintage Stakes. The three-year-old CAMELOT colt is rated 113 by ‘Timeform’ and will be offered by Park House Stables on Wednesday, 27th October.

Joseph O’Brien’s Carriganog Racing will consign the Group 3 winner and Group 1 placed MASTER OF REALITY, whose efforts this season include a win in the Listed Her Majesty’s Plate and a second-placed finish behind the highly progressive BARON SAMEDI in the Group 3 Vintage Crop Stakes. He was most recently fifth behind TRUESHAN in the British Champions Long Distance Cup. By FRANKEL out of the Champion three-year-old filly L’ANCRESSE, the high-class stayer will be offered as lot 1186C on Wednesday, 27th October.  

The wildcards lots include several promising two-year-olds, led by the Aguiar Bloodstock consigned NERO TULIP who will be offered as lot 364D on Monday, October 25th. The NIGHT OF THUNDER colt has won his last two starts for trainer Ger Lyons and owner Peter Trainor, including an impressive three and a quarter length victory at Dundalk which earned him a ‘Timeform’ rating of 95. Catalogued as lot 364B, the high-class BASTOGNE has produced admirably consistent form in eight starts for David Evans this season, never out of the first four including placed efforts in valuable nursery handicaps at Goodwood and Newmaket to earn a Timeform rating of 88. The two-year-old son of HOLY ROMAN EMPEROR was fourth on his most recent start in the Listed Prix Saraca at Chantilly and is out of a half-sister to SALACIA, the dam of Group 1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes winner KING OF CHANGE and the multiple Group winner CENTURY DREAM.

Other promising two-year-olds to be offered as wildcards include the Hilary Needler Trophy winner LADY AYRESOME, who will be consigned by Kevin Ryan’s Hambleton Lodge Stables as lot 740A. The daughter of KODI BEAR has an official rating of 83 and will be joined by the Brickfield Equine consigned JOSIES KID, who broke his maiden in impressive fashion at York on his most recent start for Alice Haynes to earn a ‘Timeform’ rating of 87. The son of ARDAD will be offered as lot 1186B. Richard Hannon’s East Everleigh Stables will also offer the placed CABLE BAY colt EVERYDAY, who is officially rated 74, as lot 740B.

Also set to attract plenty of interest is the progressive three-year-old ACE ROTHSTEIN,  who will be offered by Michael Bell’s Fitzroy House Stables at lot 364C. Rated 97 by ‘Timeform’ following wins in two of his three starts this season, the MORE THAN READY gelding is a half-brother to the Grade 3 winner LORD SIMBA.

Patrick Turley’s Kingsfield Stud will consign the three-year-old DANDY MAN gelding THAT’S JUST DANDY, who broke his maiden at Dundalk on his most recent start to earn a ‘Timeform’ rating of 84 and is catalogued as lot 740C. George Scott’s Eve Lodge Stables will offer the three-time placed SMASH HIT as lot 364A, and completing the eleven wildcards is the Michael Appleby trained three-year-old SWINTON NOON, a dual winner and twice placed this season, who is catalogued as lot 1273A.
